An Extended Wavenumber-Domain Algorithm Combined with Two-Step Motion Compensation for Bistatic Forward-Looking SAR

چکیده
With appropriate geometry configurations, bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can break through the limitations of monostatic SAR on forward-looking imaging. Thanks to such a capability, bistatic forward-looking SAR (BFSAR) has extensive potential applications. For the focusing problem of BFSAR, wavenumber-domain algorithm is accepted as the ideal solution. However, in practical application, the processing is limited because of its inability to combine the rangedependent motion compensation (MoCo). To cope with such a problem, an extended wavenumberdomain algorithm for BFSAR is derived in this paper. By modifying the reference function and mapping relationship in frequency interpolation, the extended wavenumber-domain algorithm of BFSAR integrates a two-step motion compensation. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Extended wavenumber-domain synthetic aperture radar focusing with integrated motion compensation
Modern synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems are continually developing in the direction of higher spatial resolution. This requires the usage of high range bandwidths combined with long azimuth integration intervals. High-quality SAR processing methods, which are able to deal with such sensor parameters, are necessary for focusing the raw data of such sensors. Wavenumber-domain (v–k) processi...

In this paper a new SAR data processing algorithm denoted with Extended Omega-K (EOK) is analytically presented and formulated. EOK algorithm combines the advantages of the high accurate focusing of the wavenumber domain algorithms with high precision motion compensation. The new EOK algorithm integrates a two-step range adaptive motion compensation correction in the general formulation of the ...

متن کاملA New Conical-trajectory Polar Format Algorithm for Spotlight Bistatic Sar
The Polar Format Algorithm (PFA) is suitable for spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image focusing either in monostatic or bistatic cases. The classic linear-trajectory PFA complete data correction in wavenumber domain, converting data from the polar format to the rectangular format. However, the twodimension processing (either using interpolation or chirp-z transform) introduces heavy co...
متن کاملBistatic Forward-Looking Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging Based on the Modified Loffeld’s Bistatic Formula
Bistatic forward-looking SAR (BFSAR) has many potential applications, such as selflanding in bad weather and military detection. Therefore, BFSAR receives considerable attention recently. The imaging algorithms for BFSAR are the difficulties of the study. The original Loffeld’s Bistatic Formula (LBF) can handle most general bistatic SAR configurations well. But in some complex bistatic geometri...
